IC Computer Labs

General Information

09/25 - Gaviota Lab (Phelps 1529) Upgraded to new IC Custom Built Machines boasting Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz CPUs, 4GB of RAM, and 256 MB NVidia GeForce 8600 Graphics Cards!

09/25 - Construction in Kerr Hall has prompted a revision to the room numbers. Language Lab now is in Kerr 2140, and not 2160. Please update any records or course materials accordingly.

Instructional Computing (IC) Academic Systems Group manages a number of instructional computer labs at UCSB. These labs are primarily used for undergraduate instruction and coursework. The labs can be reserved for other UCSB purposes and occasionally by the public. Labs are located in Phelps Hall and Kerr 2140.

Each computer lab has 25 student computer stations, an instructor station connected to a projector and a DVD/VHS player. IC has labs that include Windows and Macintosh Computers. IC maintains current software titles requested by the Faculty. Printing is available in all labs for students.

Instructional Computing also manages the Life Sciences Computing Facility in Psychology East, the Computer lab in the Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) Building, and the Computer Lab and Satellite Stations in the Student Resources (SRB) Building.

You may get help from any of our consultants in the computer labs or stop by Phelps 1517 and speak with an Operations Coordinator.
