Lab sign-ins ensure access for those who have reserved it.

Yes. When you first sign in, you will need to enter the class corresponding to the work you are doing in the lab.

What does the lab sign in do?
Signing in verifies your identity on the network (UCSBnetID) - it ensures you are who you say you are and it also allows you to gain access to the Internet.

If you are a student, you are entitled to a U-Mail account. More information on this is at the U-Mail website.

I don't know my U-Mail Account or Password.
You can retrieve this information from the U-Mail website or by contacting the U-Mail help desk.

I'm staff or faculty, do I have a UCSBnetID?
All Staff and faculty are entitled to have a UCSBnetID and can create one immediately at the following link -> Information Systems and Computings(IS&C) website for campus directory information.

I'm an extension student, what do I use?
Your instructor should have provided you with a "special account and password" to use. It would be something like "user@visitor"
